DATO’ ABDULLAH BIN MOHD YUSOF (Deceased 25/4/2018)

Called to the Malayan Bar in 1968, Allahyarham Dato' Abdullah served as Legal Assistant with Skrine & Co., till 1970 after which he and two other partners established a firm, TUNKU ZUHRI, MANAN & ABDULLAH and remained as a partner until August 1989. On dissolution of the said firm he, together with En. Zainudin, established a new partnership, Messrs. Abdullah & Zainudin.
Experienced in all aspects of general practice including litigation in the subordinate courts, the Industrial Court, the High Court and appeals to Federal Court. He later concentrated on corporate matters involving all aspects of corporation law including company restructuring, conveyancing including administering documentation for housing development and end-financing, banking involving all types of loans and financial arrangements and the preparation of charges, debentures, guarantees, leasing and other security documents, shipping and ship-financing mainly transactions for sale and purchase of ships documentation for loans and guarantees for ship financing, Trade marks registration and registered user, Probate and Letters of Administration. Dato’ Abdullah is also a Notary Public.
ZAINUDIN BIN ISMAIL (Deceased 11/12/2023)

Encik Zainudin graduated with Diploma in Syariah Law & Practice (1993) International Islamic University, Kuala Lumpur and Masters in Comparative Law (1995), International Islamic University, Kuala Lumpur. He later served as Magistrate, President of Sessions Courts, Senior Federal Counsel, Deputy Public Prosecutor, Legal Advisor in the Ministry of Education, Senior Federal Counsel in the Income Tax Department and State Legal Adviser of Terengganu from 1969-1977. En. Zainudin was later called to the Malayan Bar in 1978 and became partner of Tunku Zuhri, Manan & Abdullah until the dissolution of the firm in August, 1989. After the dissolution, he, together with Dato’ Abdullah, established a new partnership, Messrs. Abdullah & Zainudin from 1st September, 1989 until now.
Experienced in all aspects of civil litigation in Subordinate Courts, High Courts and Industrial Courts and appeals to superior courts including Court of Appeal and Federal Court; had appeared in 2 cases before the Privy Council in London; currently concentrating on general corporate and commercial law including corporate restructuring, joint-ventures, mergers and acquisitions, banking and conveyancing including Islamic banking, corporate and project financing, bridging financing and end financing of real properties, construction law and arbitration involving all aspects of legal matters pertaining to housing developers, consultants and contractors, their duties and obligations, and other matters regarding environmental law, land laws and strata title, and advisory work for statutory bodies and corporations in civil laws and mercantile law.
Has long and vast experience on Felda legal matters, with specific involvement and knowledge relating to Land (Group Settlement Areas) Act, 1960 and Land Development Act 1961. Prepared the draft of the Lembaga Tabung Haji Act 1995 on behalf of Lembaga Tabung Haji. His Masters degree covered studies on Environmental law, Takaful and various Islamic financial institutions and instruments and his thesis was on The Paradox of Land Development and Environmental Protection, with particular reference to Felda Land Development Schemes in Pahang.
SYAHRIL ANUAR BIN HARUN

Encik Syahril graduated with Bachelors of Law (Hons.) from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Selangor in 2016. He has done his Pupillage at Messrs, Syed Alwi, Ng & Co. Upon called to the Bar in 2018, he served as Legal Associate at Messrs. Hazelin & Associates. After a year, he moved into a new environment, serving as Legal Executive in KEJORA Development Holdings Sdn Bhd. Realizing his life is "black and white", he return to practice with Messrs. Teo, Saw & Partners. After almost a year with the firm, he embarked into a new adventure, becoming a partner and head of Litigation Department at Messrs Ishak Sharif & Co. He is a member of the International Malaysian Society of Maritime Law.
Experienced in all aspects of general practice including as a Litigator, handling Civil and Criminal matter and also handling property matter in Conveyancing. With the experience in handling Banking Litigation, General Litigation, Family Matters, Accident Claim and Defense, Non-Contentious Legal Matters, Criminal Matters and Conveyancing matter, En. Syahril have the drive to learn and perform in areas that are matter.
Having his trait not only in legal firm, his stint in Company also gain him the experience in Corporate Matter. In Civil Litigation, he was involved in few cases that have State of Johor bodies as party to the suit. Other than that, he also have experience in handling cases in Lower Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.

VEERANESH BABU A/L KUMARESAN

Mr Veeranesh Babu A/L Kumaresan graduated with Bachelor of Law (Hons) from Multimedia University in the year 2019 and was called to the Malaysian Bar, admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in the year 2020.
He completed his pupilage with Messrs. Freda Sabapathy & Co and was retained as a Legal Associate. In 2022 he was promoted to become a Senior Legal Associate with the firm. Veera specializes in Criminal Litigation, Conveyancing and Family Disputes. He regularly represents both individual and corporate clients in complex securities offences, corruption charges and general offences under the Penal Code and other Criminal Offences. He provides a wide range of services from advisory work to appearances at all levels of the Malaysian Courts. His versatility as a criminal lawyer also extends to handling environmental cases and preventive detention matters.
In June 2024, Veera joined Messrs. Abdullah & Zainudin as a partner and is mainly in charge of the firm’s Criminal Department. Veera has vast experiences in representing his clients, equipped with problem solving skills while prioritizing the best interest of the client. He conducted various criminal trials including offences under Dangerous Drugs Act, Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (SOSMA), Section 302 Penal Code, Kidnapping Act and etc.

MUHAMMAD ZUHAIR BIN HAMEDI

Mr. Muhammad Zuhair graduated with Bachelor of Law (Hons) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and was called to the Malaysian Bar, admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in year 2020. He is a member of the Malaysian Bar and International Malaysian Society of Maritime Law.
Zuhair is a corporate lawyer with a strong commitment to delivering comprehensive legal services, particularly in corporate and commercial transactions.
Over the course of his career, Zuhair has successfully guided a diverse range of clients through various complex corporate matters. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, projects, development, construction, and infrastructure. He has also developed a particular focus on the shipping and maritime industries.

In addition to his work in these sectors, Zuhair has played a significant role in advising fund management companies on equity fundraising initiatives and providing counsel works on both debt and equity financing. He has also been instrumental in assisting companies in obtaining their Capital Market Services License (CMSL). His experience further extends to advising a government-linked corporation (GLC) on the acquisition of a renewable energy company, including securing the Feed-in-Approval Holder’s license, and facilitating transactions such as the acquisition of a hydroelectric project in Sg Jeli, Kelantan.
Projects and Infrastructure
Zuhair has advised a joint venture between corporations, advising board of directors on a water treatment plant project, proposed 120 megawatt (MW) hydroelectric power plant and a takeover of a palm oil plantation corporation in Sarawak. He holds such beliefs in empowering franchise opportunities among his clients, providing legal training and corporate secretarial services for domestic and foreign clients into starting a business in Malaysia.
In June 2025, Zuhair joined Messrs. Abdullah & Zainudin as a Partner, heading the firm’s Corporate Department. Known for his problem-solving abilities and client-focused approach, he brings significant experience and legal insight to every engagement.

JYOTSANA DOSHI
She graduated with a Bachelors of Law (Hons.) from University of London and is a Barrister-at-law from Lincoln’s Inn. She was called to the English Bar in 1983. Subsequently she was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1984 and to the Singapore Bar in 1993. She has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) (1994) and a Masters in Law (LLM) (1997) both from the University of Malaya. For her Masters in Law (LLM) she concentrated on Company Law, Administrative Law, dispute resolution and arbitration in relation to commercial matters.
She joined the firm of Tunku Zuhri, Manan & Abdullah in 1984 and was involved in civil litigation dealing with matters for hearing in court especially debt recovery, foreclosure, banking, mercantile law, bankruptcy, winding up, contracts and other claims. Since 1st September, 1989 she joined the firm of Abdullah & Zainudin and concentrates on civil litigation and corporate advisory work. She also does arbitrations, industrial court matters dealing with employment and other industrial relations issues, tort on negligence of employers, professionals and institutions, corporate litigation, as well as road and industrial accident claims.
ANITA ELIZABETH PAUL
She graduated with LL.B (Hons) from the University of London in 1990 and obtained the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) from University Malaya in 1991. She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1992.
She has experience in both civil litigation and conveyancing work in general. Her experience in civil litigation is in the areas of debt recovery, bankruptcy, land and family matters. She joined us in March 1995 and concentrates on Probate and Administration of Estates, Banking, sales and purchases of properties, tenancies and general conveyancing work for corporate clients
