Dato’ Abdullah bin Mohd Yusof was called to the Malayan Bar in 1968. He served as a Legal Assistant at Skrine & Co. until 1970, after which he co-founded the firm Tunku Zuhri, Manan & Abdullah, where he remained as a partner until August 1989.
Following the dissolution of the said firm, he together with En. Zainudin established a new partnership, Messrs. Abdullah & Zainudin.
He had extensive experience in general legal practice, including litigation in the Lower Courts, Industrial Court, High Court and appeals to the Federal Court.
He later focused on corporate law, including corporate restructuring, conveyancing, housing development and end-financing documentation, as well as banking matters involving various types of loans and financial arrangements. His practice also covered the preparation of charges, debentures, guarantees, leasing and other security documentation.
In addition, he had experience in shipping and ship financing, including sale and purchase transactions, loan and guarantee documentation for vessel financing. His practice also included trademark registration and registered user matters, as well as probate and letters of administration.
He was also a Notary Public.
ZAINUDIN BIN ISMAIL (Deceased 11/12/2023)

Encik Zainudin bin Ismail obtained his LL.B (Singapore) in 1969. He later obtained a Diploma in Syariah Law & Practice (1993) and a Master of Comparative Law (1995) from the International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
He served in various capacities in the public legal service, including Magistrate, President of the Sessions Court, Senior Federal Counsel, Deputy Public Prosecutor, Legal Adviser at the Ministry of Education, Senior Federal Counsel at the Income Tax Department, and State Legal Adviser of Terengganu from 1969 to 1977.
He was called to the Malayan Bar in 1978 and subsequently joined Tunku Zuhri, Manan & Abdullah as a partner, where he remained until the firm’s dissolution in August 1989.
Following the dissolution of the firm, he co-founded Messrs. Abdullah & Zainudin together with Dato’ Abdullah bin Mohd Yusof, where he remained a partner until his passing.
He had extensive experience in civil litigation, appearing in the Subordinate Courts, High Courts and Industrial Court, as well as in appellate courts including the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court. He had also appeared in two cases before the Privy Council in London.
He later focused on corporate and commercial law, including corporate restructuring, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, banking and conveyancing matters, including Islamic banking, corporate and project financing, bridging and end-financing of real property, construction law and arbitration.
His practice also covered matters relating to housing developers, consultants and contractors, including their legal duties and obligations, as well as environmental law, land law and strata title. He also provided advisory services to statutory bodies and corporations in civil and commercial law.
He had extensive experience in FELDA legal matters, particularly in relation to the Land (Group Settlement Areas) Act 1960 and the Land Development Act 1961. He also prepared the draft of the Lembaga Tabung Haji Act 1995 on behalf of Lembaga Tabung Haji.
His Master’s thesis focused on environmental law, takaful and Islamic financial instruments. His thesis was titled “The Paradox of Land Development and Environmental Protection, with particular reference to FELDA Land Development Schemes in Pahang.”
SYAHRIL ANUAR BIN HARUN

Encik Syahril graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2016. He completed his pupillage at Messrs. Syed Alwi, Ng & Co. and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2018.
He began his legal career as a Legal Associate at Messrs. Hazelin & Associates, where he gained extensive exposure in civil and criminal litigation as well as general legal practice. He later served as a Legal Executive at KEJORA Development Holdings Sdn Bhd, where he was involved in corporate and commercial matters, further broadening his legal and practical experience.
Encik Syahril subsequently returned to private practice with Messrs. Teo, Saw & Partners before becoming Partner and Head of Litigation at Messrs. Ishak Sharif & Co.. He is also a member of the International Malaysian Society of Maritime Law.
He has extensive experience in various areas of legal practice including Banking Litigation, General Civil Litigation, Criminal Matters, Family Matters, Accident Claims and Defence, Corporate and Non-Contentious Matters, as well as Conveyancing and Property Transactions in Malaysia.
His conveyancing experience includes handling sub-sale and developer projects, preparation and review of sale and purchase agreements, loan and security documentation, perfection of transfer and charge, discharge of charge, tenancy agreements, and advisory work relating to residential, commercial and industrial properties. He also has experience in handling matters involving Lembaga Kemajuan Tanah Persekutuan (FELDA) properties, including transfer documentation, financing matters, consent applications and compliance with relevant authority requirements.
Throughout his years of practice, he has appeared before the Lower Courts, High Court and Court of Appeal in various contentious matters. He has also been involved in several notable criminal litigation matters which received coverage by local media, including New Straits Times.

VEERANESH BABU A/L KUMARESAN

Mr. Veeranesh Babu Kumaresan graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from Multimedia University in 2019 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2020.
He completed his pupillage at Messrs. Freda Sabapathy & Co and was subsequently retained as a Legal Associate. He was later promoted to Senior Legal Associate in 2022.
Veeranesh specialises in Criminal Litigation, Conveyancing and Family Disputes. He has experience representing both individual and corporate clients in a wide range of criminal matters, including securities offences, corruption-related offences, and offences under the Penal Code and other criminal statutes. His practice covers advisory work, case management and full court representation at all levels of the Malaysian Courts.
He has conducted criminal trials involving offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act, Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA), Section 302 of the Penal Code, the Kidnapping Act and other serious criminal offences.
In June 2024, he joined Messrs. Abdullah & Zainudin as a Partner and currently heads the firm’s Criminal Litigation Department.
He has been involved in several notable criminal litigation matters which have received coverage by major Malaysian media outlets, including Free Malaysia Today, The Borneo Post, The Sun, The Star and Astro Awani.

JYOTSANA DOSHI
Ms. Jyotsana Doshi graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from the University of London and is a Barrister-at-Law of Lincoln’s Inn. She was called to the English Bar in 1983, the Malaysian Bar in 1984, and the Singapore Bar in 1993.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) obtained in 1994 and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Malaya in 1997. For her LL.M., she specialised in Company Law, Administrative Law, dispute resolution and arbitration in relation to commercial matters.
She joined Tunku Zuhri, Manan & Abdullah in 1984, where she was involved in civil litigation matters including debt recovery, foreclosure, banking, mercantile law, bankruptcy, winding-up, contractual disputes and other claims.
Since 1 September 1989, she has been with Messrs. Abdullah & Zainudin, where she focuses on civil litigation and corporate advisory work. Her practice also includes arbitration, Industrial Court matters involving employment and industrial relations issues, negligence claims involving employers, professionals and institutions, corporate litigation, as well as road traffic and industrial accident claims.
ANITA ELIZABETH PAUL
Ms. Anita Elizabeth Paul graduated with an LL.B (Hons.) from the University of London in 1990 and obtained the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) from the University of Malaya in 1991. She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1992.
She has experience in civil litigation and conveyancing. Her civil litigation experience includes debt recovery, bankruptcy, land matters and family law matters.
She joined the Firm in March 1995 and currently focuses on probate and administration of estates, banking matters, sale and purchase transactions, tenancies, and general conveyancing work for corporate clients.
